Our neighborhoods have faced real challenges for too long—from failing infrastructure and rising crime to overcrowded schools. Every year, we pay more in county and state taxes and every year we get less and less for our money. That isn't right and it has to stop.
The answer isn't more political noise or empty promises.
I am as concerned and frustrated as you.
I am running to bring practical, solutions-focused leadership to the challenges we face in District 1—strengthening public safety, ensuring adequate facilities to accommodate planned growth, and making county government accountable and accessible for all of us.
I have worked as a teacher, coach, and mortgage professional in our community. I understand economics, managing budgets, and serving others. Competence over conflict. Results over rhetoric.
I will stand up to bureaucratic red tape and push for practical, 21st-century, common-sense solutions that make government work better for you.

I'm Justin Sherlock. I am a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County. I grew up in a family dedicated to public service. As the son of a firefighter and Fire Chief under bi-partisan mayoral administrations, I learned giving back to your community is one of life's greatest honors. I learned from the best — and I even made an appearance or two as Sparky the Fire Dog. Now I want to offer my best to District 1 as your next County Councilperson.
Our voice in District 1 will have an important role in shaping the direction of the county and that responsibility demands thoughtful, steady leadership, focused on real results. It needs common sense leadership, and the courage and the skills to solve the serious problems that will determine our quality of life here for generations to come.

This election is about solving problems for District 1. It's about getting back to the basics: safe communities, adequate infrastructure and protecting our quality of life.
Improving Our Quality of Life
Too often in Anne Arundel County, development moves faster than the infrastructure needed to support it—putting strain on our roads, schools, and neighborhoods in District 1. That has to change.
I will fight to ensure that infrastructure, schools, and roads are planned before development—not after. I want to make sure District 1's voice is the most important voice heard in shaping the future of our area. I will work to protect our neighborhoods from overdevelopment and hold developers accountable for the impact their projects have on our communities.

Home to Fort Meade, BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, and Arundel Mills Mall, District 1 faces unique public safety challenges—and it needs leadership ready to confront them with real solutions, while making sure the need for safer neighborhoods is addressed.
As your councilman, I will bring a more collaborative, practical, results-oriented approach to issues that have gone unaddressed for too long. That starts with refocusing the county's budget to make public safety the top priority—not an afterthought.
I will support our first responders with the tools they need, invest in community policing, and rebuild trust with the community—so every District 1 neighborhood feels safer and more secure.

I am committed to creating an accessible, responsive County Council office that delivers the highest level of constituent service. My council offices won't be in Annapolis or outside the district like they are now—they will be right here in District 1, convenient to and for the people I represent.
As your councilperson, I will fight to control spending, modernize outdated systems and processes, and fiercely advocate for District 1 priorities.
